Adventure in company

Over many years, my travels have often been solitary adventures. When I reviewed the itinerary for Ireland, I realized that navigating its complexities alone would be daunting and time-consuming. So, I signed up for the Road Scholar organized tour of Southwest Ireland—a decision I do not regret. The fantastic company made the journey truly memorable. I met many kind, knowledgeable, and generous souls along the way.

This painting is dedicated to those who made this journey unforgettable. I changed the color of the hat to make it stand out against the lime green background. The expansive shape of the hilly range is retained to convey the sense of distance and remoteness of the land. Our tour guide, who is also a social worker, spends her time helping aging residents with daily chores, doctor visits, and grocery shopping. So, I included the telephone poles - we cannot be isolated; we are connected. This painting tells that story.

Each painting is meticulously crafted on Yupo paper using Daniel Smith professional fine art watercolors. Yupo, a Japanese specialty paper, maintains vibrant color saturation by resisting paint absorption—unlike traditional watercolor paper. As the watercolor pigments dry on the surface, they create mesmerizing marbling and crystallization effects. To ensure longevity, every artwork is finished with protective archival varnish. The front bears my signature, while the back features a label. Additionally, I include a certification of authenticity with each piece.

These unique artworks make delightful gifts for special occasions like Mother’s Day, birthdays, or housewarmings. They infuse any space—whether it’s a living room, office, bedroom, kitchen, or entryway—with artistic beauty and timeless elegance.
